MY LEARNING FALL AND RISE

Its Monday August 12 when i first walked into this classroom , I nervously looked around the room anxious to find a seat. But that nervousness quickly faded when Dr. Preston greeted us in a confident and polite manner. I quickly thought to myself this might not be so bad after all.       My first day in Dr Preston's class i was thrown a curve ball I walked into that class with a vision of how the semester was going to go. Without even have speaking a word to him i made up my mind that it was going to be the same old boring book work that were all used to. But i quickly came to find out that i was wrong when he gave the choice of how the class was going to go and walked out and let us talk among ourselves. That completely blew my mind because here was this teacher that was comfortable with making mistakes in front of us , That let us decide how his class was going to run by him doing that it got me invested in his classroom.            We wasted no time getting straight

how did i do

Notes pt 4

- A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, - To be great is to be misunderstood - we may do something out of character and we know its out character because we know who we are - we all have influence on someone in our lives  - You cant avoid being great or inspiring

Emerson notes pt 3

- Nothing is at last scared but integrity of your own mind - i ought to go up right and vital and speak the rude truth in all ways. If malice and vanity wear the coat of philanthropy -  philanthropy - donation of money to good causes - Emerson is not against charity but he is against it if you're doing it to portray yourself as a good person.    -virtues - good qualities or traits - For nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure     What i took out of this section of Emerson's essay and what Dr Preston said was that people believe and think  they're doing "good" for whatever reason. But in reality they're doing it to portray themselves as something there not and they dont even realise it. Another thing i took out of what Dr Preston said was that everyone has a uniform just like Dr Preston said. Everyone wants and trys to be different but they dont see that they're being like everyone else. I think people should stay true to themsel

Notes pt 2

- society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members -

notes

- our acts our angles are , or good or ill - To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, - that is genius. - toil - listen to our own thoughts My first impression of this story was that it was a little motivational I believe we just gotta stay true to our selves and not try to follow other peoples steps.

My pedestrian essay

Everyday I step foot on campus and walk past my fellow peers, and we all just walk past each other like we're invisible to one another. To fixated on what's trending latest on socialmedia, too scared to look up off their phones and engage in a conversation with someone, or Maybe the fear of rejection so instead we seek acceptance through our online conversations behind a screen. We cross paths with each other but in reality were on two completely different roads of technology just searching for a reason not to look up off that leech that we call a phone sucking and draining our social lives that we used to have with one another not too long ago. In “The Pedestrian”, the story opens with Leonard taking his daily walk throughout the city. As he walks, he contemplates the lives of the people in the houses around him, where everyone is watching television or too focused on a tiny screen. Everyone chooses not to find their happiness through reality and nature but instead people ch
